Adani Total Gas Share Price Jumps 10% Today; Key Details Here

Adani Total Gas share price surged over 10 percent in today’s trading session, leading the mid-cap market rally following positive sector policy developments

Investors in the Indian stock market witnessed a major rally in the city gas distribution sector on Friday, September 18, 2026. Shares of Adani Total Gas Limited emerged as one of the top performers in the mid-cap space, exciting local traders. The stock price shot up by roughly 10.9 percent during intraday trading.

The energy stock opened the morning session quietly at ₹587.40 on the National Stock Exchange. However, strong buying interest quickly pushed the stock up to an intraday high of ₹657.70. By early afternoon, the shares settled around ₹651.00, marking a substantial gain from the previous close of ₹587.00.

This sudden surge injected positive energy into the broader mid-cap segment, which climbed 0.82 percent overall. Market analysts noted that heavy trading volumes supported the sudden upward move. The total trading volume on the exchange crossed 1.35 crore shares during the day.

The recent rally marks a welcome recovery for the joint venture company. Before this jump, the stock had experienced a weak patch, losing about 9.25 percent of its value over the preceding month. Even with today’s double-digit gain, the company’s annual return remains slightly down by 3.3 percent.

Policy boosts from the government have heavily assisted local gas distribution firms recently. The implementation of the Piped Natural Gas incentive scheme has played a vital role in lifting market sentiment. This scheme provides extra gas allocations to firms adding new domestic connections.

Financially, the city gas major recently reported its consolidated quarterly numbers for the period ending June. The company posted net sales of ₹1,753.53 crore, representing a 27.2 percent growth compared to the previous year. However, higher gas costs caused its quarterly net profit to dip by 14.23 percent to ₹141.72 crore.

Despite the slight drop in quarterly profits, the company maintains a massive market presence. Its current market capitalization stands firmly at ₹71,682 crore. The stock currently trades at a price-to-earnings ratio of 113.4, reflecting high growth expectations from domestic investors.

The business continues to expand its network across multiple states under a shared ownership structure. The Adani Group and global energy giant TotalEnergies each hold an equal 37.4 percent stake in the distribution firm. They focus on supplying gas to homes, commercial hubs, and vehicle owners.
