Navratna Stock Rises After Winning ₹230 Crore EPC Order

Navratna Stock: Shares of Navratna company NBCC (India) Ltd gained 2.2% after the company bagged prestigious EPC work orders worth ₹229 crore. With a market cap of ₹24,964.20 crore, the stock was trading at ₹92.45, showing a marginal gain of 0.36% from its previous close of ₹92.12.

This positive move came after the announcement that NBCC had won significant projects, including construction of 72 residential units, lecture halls, hostels and rooftop solar systems at AIIMS Bilaspur.

The company also bagged a project management consultancy contract for new hostel and infrastructure at IIM Visakhapatnam. The total value of these orders is ₹229.75 crore.

Looking at the company’s financials, revenue for Q2FY25 grew 19% to ₹2,459 crore from ₹2,059 crore. Net profit grew 52% to ₹125 crore from ₹82 crore during the same period.

NBCC also received an order worth ₹528.21 crore for bio-medical equipment and hospital furniture from the Haryana Directorate of Medical Education and Research.

Additionally, the company secured a contract worth ₹15,000 crore from the Srinagar Development Authority to develop a satellite township spread over 406 acres near Bemina, Srinagar.

In FY 23-24, NBCC reported new business orders worth ₹23,500 crore with a special focus on commercial real estate.

The management expects revenue between ₹12,500 crore and ₹13,000 crore for the current financial year, with EBITDA margins between 5.75% to 6% and PAT margins between 5.25% to 6%. The company is also expanding in international markets such as Fiji, Philippines, Dubai, Maribor and Kuwait.

Ongoing projects such as Naoroji Nagar and Sarojini Nagar redevelopment are in progress, with Naoroji Nagar nearing completion. The first phase of Sarojini Nagar, worth ₹1,450 crore, is underway, and the company plans to hand over 1,738 quarters by September 2024 and 10,000 flats in the Amrapali project by March 2025.

The management of NBCC is confident in continued growth, supported by a solid order book and active projects. The company plans to diversify by acquiring underperforming public sector units with valuable land assets and expects further growth from new real estate projects and government contracts.
