Palantir’s Stock
Palantir Technologies Inc. stock surged after the company revealed an impressive revenue forecast, citing what CEO Alex Karp called “unbridled organic growth” in demand for its artificial intelligence (AI) software.
For 2025, Pltr expects to generate revenue of about $3.75 billion — far above analysts’ estimates of $3.54 billion. Adjusted operating income is also expected to reach $1.56 billion, higher than the forecast $1.37 billion.
Palantir, best known for its work in national security, has recently gained attention for its expanding role in the AI field. The company’s stock jumped 340% in 2024 on the back of growing interest in AI technologies and increased adoption of Pltr’s data analytics tools by both commercial and government customers.
In the fourth quarter of 2024, Palantir reported 36% year-over-year revenue growth, reaching $827.5 million, exceeding analysts’ expectations of $775.9 million. Adjusted profit per share was 14 cents, higher than the forecast of 11 cents.
This strong performance resulted in a 22% increase in Palantir’s stock price in premarket trading, with shares closing at a record high of $83.74.
A significant portion of this growth is tied to Pltr’s ongoing relationship with US government agencies. Sales to the US government grew 45% to $343 million, while US commercial revenue grew 64% to $214 million. Looking ahead, Pltr forecasts a 54% increase in US commercial sales for 2025, reaching $1.08 billion.
Palantir’s technological advancements and growing influence in defense technology are also noteworthy. The company has deepened its collaboration with defense firms, including weapons maker Anduril Industries and AI startup Anthropic, to integrate advanced AI models into U.S. intelligence operations.
The move reflects Pltr’s broader vision of a software-first defense ecosystem, signaling a move away from traditional defense contractors. Karp highlighted the company’s shift to a “new phase” of growth, emphasizing that technological disruption is necessary to dismantle outdated systems.
Pltr’s technology is now deeply embedded in U.S. military operations and used by key international allies, including Ukraine and Israel. With its strong growth trajectory and AI innovations, Pltr is establishing itself as a major player in the future of both defense and technology.
