Apollo Micro Systems shares witnessed strong buying in the last trading session before the July 4, 2026, weekend. The new central policy announcement generated significant market interest in this segment of the defence sector. This momentum has pushed the stock to near historic highs ahead of an important internal governance update.

The stock surged sharply on Friday, closing 2.39% higher at Rs 450.05 on the National Stock Exchange. During a highly active session, the stock opened at Rs 443.00 and quickly reached an intraday peak of Rs 466.50. Trading volume surged to 35.4 million shares, making it one of the most traded small-cap companies.

Markets were buoyed by a major announcement by the Indian Defence Acquisition Council on Friday, July 3, 2026. The Council approved capital acquisition proposals worth approximately Rs 52,000 crore. Apollo Micro Systems is a major primary beneficiary of the newly approved Multi-Influence Ground Mine Project.

With this nationwide military modernization drive, the company is becoming increasingly integrated with existing missile operations. Reports indicate that Bharat Electronics Limited is close to securing a manufacturing order worth Rs 30,000 crore. This order is for India’s indigenously designed Quick Reaction Surface-to-Air Missile program.

Apollo Micro Systems serves as a critical electronic hardware and technology subsystem supplier for this program. The missile network is purposely engineered to counter and neutralize rapidly evolving aerial threats. The imminent launch of government contracts has drawn structural long-term investors to secondary ecosystem vendors.

In addition to external defence orders, the firm is actively developing internal funding strategies. Corporate leadership has scheduled a formal Board of Directors meeting for Monday, July 6, 2026. This meeting will specifically focus on evaluating a new capital generation proposal.

The Board intends to discuss the issuance of special convertible securities, such as equity shares or warrants. This fundraising initiative will be conducted through a preferential allotment framework under the Market Regulatory Code. Final pricing terms and appropriate dilution limits will be highly dependent on future Board decisions.

To maintain price sensitivity, the firm officially closed its internal equity trading window on July 1, 2026. This restrictive trading window will remain closed for 48 hours after the release of corporate earnings. These upcoming numbers reflect the financial performance of the first fiscal quarter ending June 30, 2026.

International asset funds have systematically increased their presence in the company in recent quarters. Foreign institutional investor holdings increased significantly to 3.64% by the end of March, up from just 0.93% recorded during the same period last year.

The small-cap company currently has a total market capitalization of Rs 16,716.36 crore. Its 52-week trading band is locked between a previous low of Rs 162.34 and a recent high of Rs 466.50. Long-term performance data shows that the stock has gained a robust 134.55% over the past 365 days.
